Thursday only 4 sleeps to go

People are starting to get excited as camp draws closer. Not long to go before we set off for Point Walter on Monday. I asked the students if they could find out why it is called Point Walter? Mr Brown just wanted to know why Walter kept pointing....

Congrats to Jessica for finding the answer before everyone else ( I think the promise of a King-size Mars Bar may have helped spur her on in her research). The answer is:

"Point Walter was named in 1827 by Sir James Stirling, in honour of his favourite older brother Walter Stirling." Wikipedia link

Mr Brown still feels that Walter may have been pointing at a pelican.

Helpful Tip #452
If you have not started packing yet, you should have at least started to get things sorted out. That way you do not have a last minute rush and end up forgetting something important that you want to take to camp.

Helpful Tip #453
Do not bring too much, follow the suggested list. Warm dry socks and good shoes are much more comfortable than open toed sandles when your feet are sore, cold and wet.

Confusing Tip #673
If you forget something, before you leave post the forgotten items to yourself at camp, like clean socks, that way you will not have forgotten anything.........
