It has been a long day

OK I am bushed, not the best nights sleep I have ever had and then up for 5:30am. I need a shower first thing in the morning followed by coffee, lots of very strong coffee. Best I got today was the shower. But behind every bleary eyed start to the day is a silver lining. The sunrise over the city was magnificent.

Miss Clough is also a coffee person first thing in the morning, coffee and a great view, ten minutes before we wake the children.

It always amazes me how children can be whinging about being kicked out of bed one minute and running around like crazed lunatics the next. Any way got most of the bodies sorted out with only the minor grumble from some quarters (well I still had not had my coffee). Once breakfast had been dealt with and we had said good morning to Mr Craig who had popped in on his way to school.

The camp day started with a stroll along the beach. Fairly sure that the term you can have a paddle does not mean go in right up to your waist. A mistake on our part obviously as we should have said do not go into the water up to your waist. Never mind a very nice stroll, made especially memorable as I discovered a very nice coffee house on the beach front, which served a very passable coffee.

We had two activity sessions planned for the day and it was right into it for my group with abseiling.

Pleased to say that most had a go and we had some successes a few tears and maybe two new converts to a new hobby, they each had three goes in a row.

The afternoon session was rafting which the children informed was the best so far as far as they were concerned.

The day ended with quiz, with table No'1the mighty 'Quiz Masters' beating table N0'2 'Bob' by the slimmest of margins to be the Point Walter 2008 Quiz champions.
